Dmitry Rogozin, said that this year, despite two recent waves of economic crisis, the ”Bulava” will join the Russian Navy.
At the end of 2011, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev announced the completion of the test cycle rocket. Testing of the missile complex ”Bulava” ended December 23, 2011. Nuclear submarine missile, ”Yury Dolgoruky” salvo fired two missiles launched from the White Sea to the Kura test site, located on the Kamchatka Peninsula. Previous start-up ”Bulava” missile with the ”Yuri Dolgoruky” was held on October 27. During the test, ”Bulava” the military had 17 starts, seven of which were accidental. Originally scheduled to rocket into service in 2006.
Chief of General Staff, Army General Nikolai Makarov, said that after the increase of production process control all of the problems with sea strategic missile ”Bulava” have been resolved.
P30 3M30 ”Bulava” (NATO reporting name, SS-NX-30) – Russia’s newest three-stage solid rocket. ”Mace” is intended to arm the nuclear-powered strategic missile project ”Northwind”. The missile can carry up to 10 hypersonic maneuvering independently targetable nuclear units. Nuclear power can change the trajectory of the course and hit targets within a radius of eight kilometers. ”Bulava” form the basis of grouping the Strategic Nuclear Forces of the Russian Federation to the 2040-2045 period.
The head strategic missile ”Yuri Dolgoruky” (code ”Northwind”) was launched in the spring of 2007. In 2012, the submarine will join the Pacific Fleet.
