Current situation of the Russian inland navigation fleet filled observers with misgivings in the last years. The Federal Target Programme for the Development of the transport infrastructure of the Russian Federation in 2010-2015 is to change the situation through construction of new 90 ships.

As for mixed (river-sea-going) ships, the situation is better.` Even under conditions of the general decline in the trade due to the crisis, the demand for them has not declined, and in some sectors, it has grown. The matter is that such ships can sail without transshipment between Russian river ports as well as European ports.
